A-Rod

I'm sure by nmow you've heard about the big SI article about A-Rod. Here is the quote that made me look twice:

"[Mike] Mussina doesn't get hammered at all," he told SI. "He's making a boatload of money. Giambi's making [$20.4 million], which is fine and dandy, but it seems those guys get a pass. When people write [bad things] about me, I don't know if it's [because] I'm good-looking, I'm biracial, I make the most money, I play on the most popular team ..."

I have always defended A-Rod, even when every other Yankee fan I know was piling it high and deep on him. But after reading this whiney, bratty quote I've had enough. He talks about how good looking he his and even pulls out the ol' race card to excuse himself. Doesn't even really mention that maybe people are angry because he has NOT played well at all this for most of this season and he needs to step it up.

The fans don't like him, it seems his own teammates don't like him, he makes a ton of money, and he is probably the most unproductive player on the team.

I wouldn't have said this a week ago but...I think it's time for A-Rod to go.

NFL Week 2

I went 12-4v last week, so I did pretty well I think. Here are my picks for the NFL week 2:

Good college game on Saturday too: Notre Dame vs Michigan.I'll be rooting for the Wolverines but it think the Irish will win it.

Football is back!

So much great football over the weekend!!!

College - Iowa vs Syracuse on Saturday: In the third overtime Iowa scored a TD first. The Syracuse marched down the field to Iowa's 2 yard line. Because of two pass interference calls on Iowa the Orangemen had a total of 10 tries to get a TD from the 2 and they couldn't do it! Iowa wins.

NFL Sunday Week 1:

The Packers suck. The Bears completely destroyed them. Brett needs to retire.

Jets vs Titans was a great game to watch and the Jets got the win. The Titans need to pick a QB and stick with him. The Jets kicker Mike Nugent missed two FGs and a extra point. He sucks.
The Bills lost in the 4th because of a safety, even though they really outplayed the Pats. Thats pretty rough.

Manning vs Manning Sunday night was a fun game even though my Giants lost. The Giants still looked good and Plaxico made a couple incredible catches. The Giants D needs to start holding on to those bad passes and turning them into interceptions.

So glad football is back! I'm picking the Vikings to beat the Redskins and the Chargers to beat Oakland in the MNF double header tonight.

Last but certainly not least, don't forget to say a prayer for the poor people that lost their lives five years ago today in the Twin Towers.
