10-18-06

Oops, my bad. I said in my previous post that Indy was the only undefeated team. How could I forget about Da' Bears (even thought they pulled off a miracle Monday night to stay that way).

NLCS is 3-2 Cards. Do or die time for the Mets.

Brandon Jacobs is uhh uhhh, a cool man

A few NFL thoughts from this weekend's games:

1) Brandon Jacobs is actually a pretty darn good RB for the Giants. He always gets at least a few solid yards, usually gets the first down on 3rd and short and knocks a few guys down on the way to doing it. The reason he gets no recognition is Tiki is suck a freakin witch.

The Giants are finally shaping up to be the team everyone thought they would be at the start of the season. I'm glad they are starting to get the ball to Shockey.

2) Only winless team left: Oakland Raiders. Only team without a loss: Indy Colts. Can either one go all the way!?!?

3) Speaking of the Raiders, I like Jake Plummer but he should have had alot more than 95 yard passing against Oakland. Kinda pathetic.

4) Lions get their first win against the Bills. Poor Lossman is gonna be dead by the end of the season. He gets hit basically every play.

5) Tampa gets their first win against the Bengals. Cincy is not what we thought they were and Carson Palmer dosn't look right this season.

In baseball, Tigers are going to the Series. Mets and Cards are tied 2-2. I think the Tigers will do better against NY then St. Louis but who knows they way that series is going....

Friday the 13th lol

Tigers 2 games to 0 over the A's. They just keep rollin. Mets won last night. It just feels like it will be a Tigers/Mets world series.

Torre has been confirmed as staying another year with the Yanks. Cashman has said that A-Rod will not be traded. We'll see...

Good football this weekend college and pro. The games I'll be watching are: Michigan v Penn State on Saturday and Giants v Falcons on Sunday.

I had a great week picking NFL games last week. I went 13-1! Hopefully I can do almost as good this week.

Lastly, what a freakin strange and tragic story the whole Cory Lidle thing was. RIP Cory...

Yankees choke

Tigers win 3 games to 1.

Good pitching always beats good (hah ya right, in this case crappy) hitting. Please get some freakin pitchers this offseason Mr. Cashman!!!

Here are my thoughts on what the Yankees should do after the fiasco that was the MLB AL Division Series:

#1 - Do NOT fire Joe Torre. He is not the one who couldn't get a hit, drive in a run or strike anybody out. He is the one however who made the right moves and plugged in the right players during the season that kept the Yanks competitive despite all their injuries. Plus I believe he has one more year on his contract. Give the guy another year.

#2 - Trade A-Rod and Sheffield for some pitching. Hopefully Dontrell Willis or Barry Zito. Maybe even Curt Schilling.

#3 - Bring up more good young offensive players like Robby and Melky.

#4 - Ditch Jared Wright and get some good middle relief. Possibly trade Randy Johnson for another starting pitcher.

#5 - Did I mention they need pitching? Starting and middle relief? Somone, anyone, get pitchers!

Thats all I can think of right now but I'm sure there is more. Overall a very very discouraging time for Yankee fans.

Yanks v Tigers Game 3

OYA! It's that time of year. MLB playoffs! Cards, As and Mets are all 2-0. But on to the series that matters lol :

The Yankes are tied 1-1 with the Tigers. Game 3 tonight in Detroit, Randy Johnson vs Kenny Rogers. Let's just say my confidence in a win with old Randy on the mound is not at an all time high. They better win though, because being down 2-1 to the Tigers is NOT a position they want to be in. We shall see...

GO YANKEES!!!
