Well, it's almost here folks. UAlbany vs Siena this Saturday Dec 1, 7pm at the Pepsi...ummm...I mean Times Union Center. The past two years this basketball game has gone to overtime, with last years going to double overtime! Great games, the arena is packed and the fans are going insane. By far the best sporting event in our area.

I'll be there with my friends rooting for UA (my alma mater) but I'm afraid Sienna has too much talent this year compared to Albany. The loss of Jason Siggers and Jamar Wilson will probably be too much for UA to overcome. They are 4-1 though and playing very well. Either way, whoever wins it will be a blast. Go on Saturday, jam the TUC and support your team.

GO DANES!!!

NFL notes from yesterday's games:

Just when I thought the Giants were on track they get absolutely destroyed by the Vikings. Eli Manning has three interceptions run back for TDs. That is ridiculous. I think the final score was 41-17. Please, not another second half meltdown...

The Packers are for real. Brett Favre is on fire. The upcoming Cowboys vs Packers game should be on of the best of the year. I'm picking the Cowboys but I'll be rooting for the packers.

The Eagles almost handed the Patriots their first loss of the year last night. Philly was playing with backup QB AJ Feeley since McNabb was injured and they were that close to pulling off the upset. You can be sure that the teams who still have to play New England will study what the Eagles did last night very closely.

Derrick Anderson (Browns QB) is the real deal. Very talented young player. Now Cleveland has a real dilemma on it's hands for next year. Should they trade Anderson and start much hyped but not proven Brady Quinn, or stick with the proven player. Or try to keep them both and let Quinn sit on the bench for another year. Can't wait to see what they decide.

Why do I have the feeling (and I hate to say this) that the Dolphins will avoid going winless by beating the NY Jets. Just a hunch, I hope I'm wrong...
Later.

Wow, the Knicks are a complete disaster. "Starbury" threatened to blackmail Isiah Thomas because he he was benched for a game earlier in the week. He clamied he had stuff that would humiliate him and end his carrer or something like that. Since Marbury testified on behals of Thomas in the sexual harrasment case, he probably does know something. Incredible, a player publicly threatening the coach with blackmail. Then he flew back to NY instead of staying for the game on the bench. He claims he was given permission to but the Knicks deny that.

Then there is the sexual harrasment suit against Thomas I just mentioned which he was found guilty in. So besides having no control of his team and coaching them to a horrible record every year he has been there and far far this year, he is a complete loser as a person. All this and the Knicks have the highest payroll in the NBA. They keep aquiring average or less players and paying them a fortune. And they have some obsession with getting pointguards.

The Knicks are the joke of the NBA. Thomas and maybe even the GM Dolan need to be canned now, they need to get rid alot of the deadweight players as soon as the season ends and get rid of Marbury who has been nothing but an attitude case. Then just start over from scratch.

Good things are happening for UAlbany sports. In basketball they have won the America East tournament and gone to the NCAA tournament 2 years in a row. This year the play Duke on ESPN2 nationally televised in December. The Albany Sienna game is coming up a the Pepsi – excuse me Times Union Center – and that is always a blast.

They are also talking about building an actual stadium for the football team. The team is good but it just kinda blows watching them at ‘University Field’ on the bleacher seats. I think their attendance will go up dramatically if they build a stadium. Hopefully the higher ups there will make it happen.
