First off a very happy birthday to my brother Anthony!

Now a few quick sports takes:

Even though UA got trounced by Duke on Monday night (as expected), it was still awesome to them on ESPN2 in a nationally televised game! Let’s hope they get another on next year. If they make it to the tournament again I’m sure they will.

The Giants have 2 more games and only need to win one to get into the playoffs. They better beat the Bills this week I just have this feeling they won’t beat the Patriots in the final week :/ .

Speaking of the Giants v Pats game it is going to be on – guess where – the NFL Network. So if you live in the Capital Region or anywhere in the great state of New York for that matter and you don’t have a dish, you better get to the bar early cause they are gonna be jammed!

On the Mitchell Report:
While I believe that every Yankee mentioned is guilty as charged, I don’t think it is any coincidence that there are a ton of Yankee players on the list and only one Red Sox player. Reason being that George Mitchell the author of the report is directly affiliated with the Boston Red Sox organization. It’s also no coincidence that the two main sources for the report comes from employees of the Yankees and Mets clubhouses. Nice unbiased report there Mitchell. Ughhh.

Staying on that subject, Roger Clemens yesterday categorically denied any use of steroids during his career. I think that statement will come back to bite him in the butt. Andy Petite said that he only took HGH to heal quicker and get back to helping his team mates, and that he did it before it was banned. Sounds like a lame excuse to me.

However, I think this whole steroid thing is mostly a big fuss over nothing whether we are talking Andy Petite or Barry Bonds and I will delve into that in my next post.

Out.

The Atlanta Falcons are a mess. Their Coach Bobby Patreno announced today that he is now the new coach of the Arkansan Razorbacks. He left the Falcons with three games left in the season!

Former Atlanta QB Michael Vick started his 23 month jail term for dogfighting over the weekend. The team was totally embarrassed in a loss on Monday night football this week, and they only have 3 wins the entire season. To top it all of they are starting their 3rd string QB this Sunday. Not the backup, the third guy.

The Dophins might be winless and the Jets might be terrible, but the Falcons are deinately the most pathetic team in the league.
