Mailboxes

I went to visit my buddy 'D' one year when we were both in our early teens. They lived in a suburb of Cleveland OH called Hinkley. Being under 16 and with no friends who had a car in the area things got boring kinda quick just hanging out at his folks house. So we decided we would take some of 'D’s' famous CO2’ bombs and blow some crap up.

Once it got dark we grabbed the bombs and snuck through the woods to the house down the road from them. They had one of those heavy duty green plastic mailboxes, with a door in front and back. 'D' lit the fuse and tossed the bomb into the mailbox. Then we ran. The explosion cracked the mailbox and blew the front and back doors right off the thing. We were so thrilled with our work that we blew up mailboxes up and down the street on both sides of his house. Not only that but we shot some bottle rockets through the window of a guys house down the street for good measure.

The next day 'D’s' dad calls us into the kitchen and informs us that the cops stopped by inquiring about the damage and noticed that their mailbox was still intact. 'D' flat out denied that we were responsible but I wimped out. I knew we were done for and I also didn’t want to lie to his dad so I spilled the beans. Of course I said that it was just a prank, we were so sorry, no harm meant, blah blah blah. After some yelling and threatening to turn us in to the FBI (Since I guess technically blowing up a mailbox is a federal offense) he let us off on the condition of a curfew for the rest of my stay. Of course we ignored it.

The End.
